Northeast Technology Center POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Position:
Electronic Control Systems Instructor District Employee Assigned to
Pryor Campus Exempt Certified Teacher, Full-Time, 10-month Staff
Starting Date: August 1, 2026 Reports to: Assistant Superintendent
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, with 50-minute
lunch Compensation Package: $60,973 to $77,830 annual minimum
salary, commensurate with experience. Health, dental, vision, paid
life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits
plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. Total minimum
compensation package approximately $83,973 to $97,830 annually.
Primary Function: In order to promote quality career and technology
training, responsibilities for this position include, but are not
limited to: facilitate and instruct secondary and/or post-secondary
students; deliver course content according to Northeast Tech policy
and Career Tech guidelines, provide accurate recording of student
hours, proficiencies, and competencies, and provide students with
the necessary support for success in their chosen career;
responsible for instruction, curriculum development, operations,
and general development of the Electronic Control Systems Program.
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Must qualify for a standard or provisional Teaching
Certificate as defined by the Oklahoma Department of Education and
Oklahoma Department of Career Technology Education. Minimum of high
school diploma or equivalent. Three years experience preferred in
the industrial automation maintenance field. Experience with
electrical and programmable logic controllers, robotics, and fluid
power preferred. Secondary math and science teachers with an
aptitude for technical work and/or hands-on training will be

NORTHEAST TECHNOLOGY CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION Exempt, Certified,
Full-time, 10-month Staff TITLE: ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS
INSTRUCTOR Hours: 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday with a 50-minute lunch break. Must be able to work extended
hours whenever required or requested by administration. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with all state, federal laws
and policies and procedures of the school district. Adhere to
Oklahoma criteria for effective teaching and standards of
performance and conduct for teaching in the delivery of
curriculum/instruction. Ensure that a pleasant, safe, and orderly
climate for learning exists in the classroom. Upgrade teaching
techniques, learning styles, and technology methodologies in order
to deliver current and marketable training to students at a high
professional level. Work cooperatively with staff in a professional
manner to develop, promote and improve educational services for
students in desired occupational skill areas. Establish and
maintain efficient and effective controls for expenditures of
school funds in accordance with the adopted budget and school
codes, and produce appropriate requests and inventory controls as
requested and necessary. Teach and perform assigned duties in a
manner consistent with district and campus standards and uphold the
policies and procedures of the Board of Education. Meet and
instruct students in assigned classes at the location and times
assigned. Provide individualized and group instruction utilizing a
variety of instructional techniques. Teach students the skills and
knowledge contained in the course outline in order to prepare them
for related employment and state board exams if applicable.
Actively make certain that the instructor is aware of any
individual student disabilities and that they alter instruction
based on documented needs and accommodations. Use state curriculum
and audio-visual material related to the course if applicable.
Monitor student progress and recognize academic achievements. Use
current related resource materials. Schedule speakers annually from
industry to inform students of the opportunities available. Update
course objectives and outlines as needed to remain current with
industry. Ensure that a minimum of instructional time is utilized
for non-instructional routines in an effort to maximize time on
task. Classroom/Shop/Lab Management Provide students with classroom
and lab experiences that are related to current industry practice
as described by the vocational standards. Organize class time so
that classroom instruction, laboratory work, and clean up
activities can be accomplished within the allotted time. Pre-plan
units of instruction, identifying objectives, supplies, and
equipment needed. Implement appropriate methods of instruction,
including hands-on activities to reinforce all theory assignments
and involve all learning styles. Evaluate each student’s
performance based on knowledge and skills, prepare progress reports
and employment references for students. Efficiently and accurately
maintain confidential student records of attendance, absences,
tardies, and makeup work for each student which may include time in
lab, performance records, and screening test results and reports as
required by the State Department of Career Tech, the district, and
any other governing boards by the required deadlines. Maintain a
clean and orderly classroom, lab/shop room, storage room and office
space. Maintain an emergency data file on each student enrolled.
Prepare and submit reports as required by state and local school
districts. Monitor equipment to ensure that it is kept in a clean,
well-maintained condition. Discipline Organize the daily student
assignments in such a manner that it minimizes the necessity for
disciplinary action. Maintain discipline in the classroom and shop.
Control and report infractions of school policy by students outside
of the class/lab areas (campus area). Establish, maintain, and
effectively utilize an advisory committee consisting of area
education professionals, business professionals, and other members
as needed to ensure positive and relevant industry partnerships.
Hold and attend two advisory meetings and submit reports each year.
Inventory of Tools, Equipment and Supplies Conduct inventory of
tools and equipment prior to the start of school. Report lost or
broken tools and equipment as soon as they occur. Keep inventory of
supplies at time of purchase and dispensing. Prepare for a full
formal inventory by school administration at the end of the school
year. Sponsor a CTSO (Career Tech Student Organization) as an
integral part of the program, providing co-curricular activities to
be actively involved. Encourage 100% membership participation of
all students in the CTSO Help and guide in the election of class
officers. Help promote activities in the program. Assist and
encourage students in preparing for and participating in contests.
Assist in monitoring student behavior while in transit and during
official district, state, and national student organizational
activities. Control Shop/Lab Projects Supply work for each student
at all times. Select projects to enhance each student’s training.
Complete all information on contracts, work orders, service orders
prior to beginning and upon completion of projects or service
performed. Order and record purchase of supplies and materials to
the proper repair order. Maintain proper safety and discipline in
classroom and shop areas. Student Placement Assist students in
completing a portfolio, and obtaining job readiness skills by
learning to complete job applications, and preparing them for job
interviews. Assist qualified students in finding a job in the field
he or she is trained. Work with industry to ensure students have
employment opportunities in their field of study. Encourage and
prepare students to take industry related certification tests.
Promote and coordinate the placement of students in realistic
training/job shadowing, supervised work experience, full time
employment and or continuing education. Keep students’ files
containing information to complete follow-up reports and placement
assistance. Support Board Policies and Growth Become aware of and
follow all established board policies and A.C.T. negotiated
agreement Assist in upholding and enforcing NT board policies.
Complete all local and state reports on time. Attend all scheduled
school functions related to the program. Public Relations Submit
information on newsworthy events in your program. Represent the
school in a professional manner at all times. Work collaboratively
with administration and marketing to facilitate student
recruitment, enrollment, job placement, and specialized instruction
efforts. Actively promote and engage in student recruitment Any
other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Campus Director or
Superintendent. Education, Experience and Qualifications: Must
qualify for a standard or provisional Teaching Certificate as
defined by the Oklahoma Department of Education and Oklahoma
Department of Career Technology Education. Minimum of high school
diploma or equivalent. Evidence of skills important to fulfilling
the position responsibilities is important. Proficient in working
with administrators, instructors and staff to establish a schedule
that will serve students efficiently and effectively. Required
criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or
legal resident alien status. Cannot be related to a currently
seated district school board member within the second degree of
affinity or consanguinity. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requirements: Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
with associated deadlines. Excellent communications and human
relations skills especially with secondary and adult students.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language
including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition,
and grammar. Must be able to effectively handle multiple,
simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of being
calm with and professional with numerous different personalities at
various levels. Ability to exercise initiative, independent
judgment, and discretion in the performance of duties. Able to
maintain a program budget, keep inventory, order supplies and
equipment. Maintain accurate inventory control and closely monitor
use of inventory items in the program to prevent loss, damage, or
theft. Competent in the use of current technology especially
computer software for classroom use, email and internet
applications. Training and Meeting Requirements: View or attend
required Safety Training either by video or in person on a
quarterly basis. Attend professional development training
opportunities as required by district policy. Attend meetings and
all scheduled functions related to the program, and provide
information to the Campus Director and/or Superintendent as
requested. Work Environment: Job operates in a professional office
environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical, Mental Demands and Dependability: Must be able to perform
work indoors in a climate-controlled classroom or private office,
or in an outdoor environment with cold weather conditions. Must be
able to routinely perform physical work and computer work for an
average of 5 – 8 hours per day, when necessary. Position has high
requirements for effective hearing and both near and far vision
capability, performing work with limited physical exertion and
routine lifting of up to 30 lbs. Must be able to: care for oneself,
see, hear, walk, stand, lift, bend, reach, climb, stoop, squat,
speak, breathe, learn, read, concentrate, think, and perform work
by doing manual tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be capable of local travel (as driver) and occasional
overnight and extended travel, domestically, by commercial
airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation. Regular
attendance following a designated work schedule. Must be able to
work scheduled and extended hours and additional days/evenings as
required by position responsibilities. Reports to: Assistant
Superintendent Terms of Employment: Temporary contract for first
year of employment. Annual Evaluation: Performance of this job will
be evaluated annually in accordance with Oklahoma law and the
provisions of the board’s policy on evaluations.
