Position DetailsReq ID:req11317Position Title:Student Activities OfficerPosition Type:Staff Full-TimePosition Number:AS8570OSU Campus:StillwaterDepartment:Student Union ProgramsLocation Address:313 Studnet Union , Stillwater, OK 74078 USAHiring Supervisor:Kayla Loper Hiring Range: (Contingent upon available funding):41,400.00 - 48,600.00, Salary Work Schedule:08:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday possibly weekends and HolidaysFaculty Appt Period:Job Summary:Work alongside the Manager of Arts, Culture, & Entertainment (ACE) to advise and implement all Campus Life special events, Allied Arts, and Student Union Programs. Responsibilities will be shared among the ACE office staff and will be based on previous programming/advising experience. Responsibilities of the Student Activities Officer may include any of the following and a detailed job description will be finalized upon hire: Manage and advise the Student Union Activities Board (SUAB) in various phases of their operation: budgets, program development, advertising, public relations, booking and contracting of performers, speakers, and artists with local/regional/national agencies.Oversee the Allied Arts Committee in regards to venue/facilities management, contractual agreements, ticket sales, risk management, and fiscal operations.Manage and oversee the Student Union Art Collection, including but not limited to the proper care, inventory of in house art, and the coordination of displays of visiting art exhibits.Assist in on-going leadership training of members of student organizations with ACE including but not limited to SUAB, Allied Arts Committee, etc.Advise student committees assigned to special events such as Summer on the Plaza, Miss OSU Pageant, Fanfare of Lights and Late Night Cafe.Perform on-going research and analysis of student needs (surveys, focus groups, etc.) in efforts to stay current with the students' needs and wants. Establish and maintain regularly scheduled meetings (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) to facilitate effective and responsive communication with students and staff in the ACE Office.Serve as program and service resource for students, student organizations, faculty, staff, and community regarding programs/activities, contracts, and contact persons for programs. This position will require the ability to lift 25 pounds.Special Instructions to ApplicantsEducation & ExperiencePosition Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Programming/Event Planning or related field.Two years experience in Student Personnel/event planning/programming, professional level experience and supervision. Two years of graduate level experience can be accepted.MS Word, MS Excel, Quick Books, social media, basic website maintenance.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Programming/Event Planning or related field.Oklahoma State University (OSU) strives to provide a safe study, work, and living environment for its faculty, staff, volunteers and students.
