Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Must have PICU experience and Level 1 experience • Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor IV infusions and blood products • Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge planning • Make referrals for patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required • Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred • Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC) required • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required • PALS certification from American Heart Association required • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed • Computer skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients required Facility: This specialized children's hospital provides comprehensive pediatric care with advanced PICU services for critically ill children.
