Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year of Experience Preferred License: Valid RN License Required Certifications: BLS CPI or MAB Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience Preferred Patient Ratio Experience: 6 Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse in the Behavioral Health specialty for a night shift position. Must be willing to precept. BLS and CPI or MAB certification required at time of submission. Charting system experience with Epic preferred. Experience in community hospitals and LTAC preferred. Experience in trauma Level I and II preferred. Travel experience is required. Skills include experience with eating disorders, forensic issues, inpatient care, medical/psych situations, and substance use/chemical dependency. Knowledge of anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders is essential. Must manage self-injurious and suicidal behavior, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and provide crisis intervention. Proficient in medication administration, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, and mood stabilizers. Must be skilled in starting and maintaining IVs, blood glucose monitoring, and Foley catheter management. Knowledge of seclusion protocols and behavior management techniques required. Additionally, experience in wound care and feeding tube management is necessary. This position may require floating to like units, based on facility needs. Travelers will receive a brief orientation on the unit. Patient ratios are expected to be 6:1 during night shifts.
