| Rotating night/weekend call Position overview The RN
Cardiovascular / Cardiac Cath Lab provides specialized nursing care
to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and
vascular procedures. This traveler role works closely with
cardiologists and technologists to support safe, effective care for
cardiac patients ranging from routine to highly complex cases. Key
responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to assigned cardiac
patients before, during, and after catheterization and
interventional procedures. Assist physicians with examinations,
diagnostic studies, and minor procedures in the Cath Lab,
functioning in circulating and monitoring roles as assigned.
Monitor and interpret physiological data (vital signs, ECG rhythms,
hemodynamic parameters) and promptly intervene or escalate changes
in patient status. Administer medications, IV infusions, contrast
agents, and blood products safely, following cath lab protocols and
ACLS guidelines. Document assessments, interventions, physician
orders, and procedural details accurately in the electronic health
record. Educate patients and families on procedures, expected
recovery, access site care, and post-procedure instructions.
Coordinate care with physicians, technologists, and ancillary staff
and delegate appropriate tasks to support personnel. Participate in
on-call rotation for nights and weekends, responding to emergent
cath lab cases as scheduled. Perform additional cath-lab-related
duties as assigned to support workflow and patient safety. Required
qualifications & skills Minimum 1 year of RN experience; prior
Cardiac Cath Lab or cardiovascular/critical care experience
strongly preferred. Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited
nursing program. Active Oklahoma RN license or multistate compact
(eNLC) license. Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications. Strong
communication, organizational, and time-management skills with
ability to function in a procedure-driven, high-acuity setting.
Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning local EMR and cath
lab systems as a traveler. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in
Nursing (BSN). Ideal candidate: Experienced travel Cath Lab RN
comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring, sedation support, and
rapid response to intra-procedural changes. Core competencies
Cardiac cath & interventional nursing care, including pre-, intra-,
and post-procedure management. Hemodynamic and ECG monitoring with
timely recognition of complications and ACLS-based response. Safe
medication, contrast, and blood product administration specific to
cath lab procedures. Team collaboration with cardiologists,
technologists, and peri-procedural staff. Patient and family
education regarding cardiac catheterization and follow-up care. 5
