Job Description:
Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession:
Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 5x8.5-Hour Hours per Shift: 06:30 - 15:00 Experience:
Minimum 2 years circulating experience; no first-time travelers
License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience
with Meditech charting system Description: Late day shift until
19:00 on rotation (1-2 times per week). Call covered currently, but
could be possible in the future. Preferred candidates should have
experience in lobe resection, lung resection (thoracotomy),
appendectomy, and cholecystectomy procedures. Candidates should
also be skilled in colon resection, hernia repair
(inguinal/umbilical), laparoscopic-assisted procedures, and
thyroidectomy (partial/total). Open to candidates with experience
in arthroscopy, closed reduction of fractures,
laminectomy/discectomy, open reduction of fractures,
orthopedics/spine, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement.
Additional skills in cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and
transurethral resection of the prostate are valued. Familiarity
with fire safety, cell saver operation, administration of blood and
blood products, infection control, laser safety, and radiation
safety is essential. Experience in specimen handling/labeling and
adhering to universal protocol (time out procedure) is required.
Daily case census is approximately 20-25 with six operating rooms
available. Facility supports interdisciplinary procedures in spine,
urology, gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, and
pulmonology. Special equipment includes ION, DaVinci XI, and
Stryker/Arthrex video equipment for urology procedures.
