Responsibility for the management and evaluation of clinic
1.1 Organizes employee tasks to promote efficiency. Initiates new
methods of achieving clinic standards. Provides direct management
for all personnel and daily clinic operations.
1.2 Provides ongoing evaluation of work flow and designs new
methods of achieving clinic standards to include enhanced revenue,
labor performance, reduction in expenses, and increased

2.1 Develops clinic budgets per MHN guidelines and timeframe.
Adheres to budget standards within 5%. Provides monthly variance
reporting to Director.
2.2 Promotes achievement of timely and accurate billing,
collection, and coding procedures consistent with Federal and State
government requirements in conjunction with Business Office
2.3 Ensures the clinics ability to consistently close on a daily
basis and within 5 working days of month end through close working
relationship with Business Office Manager.
2.4 According to reimbursement guidelines, initiates appropriate
pricing of all clinic activity and routinely monitors for update

3.5 According to purchasing and materials management guidelines,
oversees procurement of all clinic supplies and medications.
3.6 On a quarterly basis, reviews clinic contracts with outside
vendors to assure maximum financial benefit to both Mercy Health
Network and Mercy Health System.
3.7 On a quarterly basis, reviews managed care contract performance
and develops action plans to identify and address areas of
improvement for each contract.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
4.1 Ensures the adherence of clinic operation to OSHA regulations,
including hazardous waste disposal, infection control guidelines,

and State guidelines in cooperation with Mercy Health Center
Director of Clinical Laboratory.
4.3 Monitors radiology department to ensure the performance of
procedures within appropriate guidelines in cooperation with Mercy
Health Center Director of Radiology.
4.4 Assists in the initiation of a Physician Risk Management
Program, providing input and coordination where appropriate in
cooperation with Mercy Health Center Risk Management Director.
Maintains equipment and machinery with notification to Mercy Health
Center Engineering and Biomedical Staff.
5.1 Ensures the adherence of laboratory quality control standards
and routine equipment maintenance through Mercy Health Center
5.2 Ensures adherence of telephone system equipment and monitors
5.3 Ensures the initiation of and update for service agreements on
all clinic equipment as needed, according to preventive maintenance
and other maintenance schedules.
5.4 Develops methods for quality control standards in adherence
with HCFA guidelines.
Provides for continual development of clinic operation.
6.1 Keeps abreast of legislative changes, intermediary rulings,
market trends affecting clinic operation through various sources
and by attending at least one conference annually regarding MGMA
6.2 Maintains a professional relationship with Medicare/Medicaid
promoting timely information exchange.
6.3 Provides for continued staff development of clinic personnel,
including at least one monthly staff meeting.
6.4 Develops marketing plan for maximum utilization of ancillary
services through marketing to non-network physicians.
6.5 Performs quarterly financial review of service offerings to
identify clinic revenue opportunities and shortfalls, and develops
action plans accordingly.
6.6 Provides for ongoing communication between medical and clinical

promote quality care as a team concept within the clinic through
ongoing feedback, statistical evaluation, and team meetings.
6.8 Develops and initiates relationship with area Retirement
Centers, Nursing Homes, Health Department, and City Council.

age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and

8.1 Monitors and reports on a monthly basis the month end activity
of the clinics operation, including; net receipts, production,
procedure analysis by doctor/clinic, collections, and gross
revenues through business office manager and financial analyst.
8.2 Monitors and reports on the monthly expense report, within 7
days of receipt.
8.3 Assists in the preparation of monthly reports for network staff

Education: Requires a Bachelor s Degree in Business or closely
Experience: 3 years associated supervisory experience and training
in a physician clinic setting or 7 years associated experience and
training in a physician clinic setting, including 4 years of
