You can do that here at Mercy! You now have the option to start in your unit as a Nurse Intern after graduation and before taking/passing NCLEX. Once licensed, Nurse Interns will transition into their licensed role. Nurse Intern is an optional role for those accepting a licensed nurse position at Mercy. To qualify for the Nurse Intern Program, you must have: - Graduated from an approved or accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN). - Must be eligible to take board of nursing exam. In the state of Oklahoma, must have submitted application to Pearson VUE for testing and first payment for validating eligibility to test, as well as transcript and conferral letter. - Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. Start Dates Start dates for new graduate RNs are biweekly throughout the year. You start orientation as a licensed RN eligible to practice in Oklahoma. New Grad RN Orientation Our New Grad RN Orientation Program will build competence and confidence in your new role and enable you to move confidently into your future as a Mercy nurse. In our professional monthly workshops and focused support groups throughout your first year, you can share your own experiences, learn from experienced discussion leaders, and explore your impact on patient outcomes. Our monthly content includes conflict management, resiliency and burnout, palliative and comfort care, resiliency, and many other topics. New Grad RN Position Qualifications - Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN). - Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. - Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. RN, Registered Nurse, New Grad Nurse, Clinical Nurse, Southern Oklahoma, Ardmore Mercy has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
