GRAPHIC DESIGNER Creative Services Design, layout, and produce graphic arts materials for the internal and external use of the ODCTE and other related agencies. Assist in project management responsibilities. Requires associate degree, technical training credential or industry certification in graphic design/commercial art. Requires experience with Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator). Special skills include artistic ability (conceptual, design, composition, layout, color); knowledge of technical terminology unique to the graphic arts industry; and the ability to produce electronic art correctly so that the printing facility will be able to process it. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Position based in Stillwater, OK. Duties/Essential Functions: -- Design, layout, illustrate, select type and produce electronic art to be printed. This art includes but is not limited to catalogs, brochures, annual reports, logos, posters, curriculum materials, conference materials, trailer wraps, ads, displays, business cards, signs, graphs, and newsletters. Design, layout, select type and produce electronic art for non-print applications such as PowerPoint presentations, video productions, web pages, and creating animation and/or interactivity for web pages. -- Review job requests with supervisor and/or customer; make suggestions regarding layout, content, options, etc. -- Follow through with customer and outside vendors, proofreader, and printing through completion to ensure desired results. -- Assist customer with coworker's job if the coworker is absent. -- Maintain tight production schedules, for several projects at a time, to allow time for editing, proofing, and customer approval. -- Maintain accurate records of time and cost in computerized database. Complete forms for printing requests and cost estimates. -- Maintains effective customer relations and resolves customer concerns in a timely and professional manner. -- Complete required continuous training and education. Maintain and enhance software and hardware skills as department usage and software features are upgraded. Salary/Benefits: $33,628 - $38,673 commensurate with education or experience.
