Job Summary
The Accounting Associate II is primarily responsible for processing journal entries, along with providing backup support to cash applications, project setup, and project change orders.
Essential Functions

• 
  
• Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."

• Enter, process, file, index, and maintain journal entries in Penta.
  
• Provide backup support to:
  
• Cash Applications, including processing cash receipts for all divisions and operating units, consisting of wire transfers, ACH deposit, lockbox deposits and electronic checks.
  
• Obtain an understanding to accurately setup new projects based on OU (LS, T&M, AIA & Parent/Child) and cost code structures in relation to project tracking and the customer's invoicing requirements.
  
• Enter project Change Orders in Penta System and ensure all estimates are uploaded accurately for approved Change Orders that follows Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  
• Close jobs and re-open jobs when requested in Penta.
  
• Timely and accurately setup customers and vendors into accounting system.
  
• Setup new vendors in Penta. Ensure that proper information has been submitted on setup form from procurement along with a W-9 and the Related Party Disclosure, if applicable.
  
• Provide second verification for banking information for vendors.
  
• Communicate effectively with all levels of positions including internal and external customers while also providing requested documentation and reports.
  
• Participate in archiving, records retention, and audit support.
  
• Perform additional responsibilities, as directed, which would include supporting or serving as the lead on identified special accounting projects.
  
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • 2+ years' experience in general accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable required.
    
  • Strong ten-key by touch skills required.
    
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
    
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting procedures.
    
  • Computer proficiency, including Excel, Outlook; experience with PENTA a plus.
    
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills required; must be a self-motivated individual.
    
  • Detail oriented; must have the ability to prioritize work, analyze information, identify discrepancies, and meet deadlines.
    
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    
  • Strong customer service mindset and approach to business.
