Job Description:

Performs calculations, prepares sketches, gathers information, and

prepares technical specifications for specific segments of an electrical

engineering project. Organizes and tracks various project activities,

including material requisitions and vendor submittals. Prepares

information for drawings, coordinates with Drafters and Designers, and

reviews drawings when completed. Assists in the preparation of man-hour

and project cost estimates and schedules, both internally and for

clients. Prepares technical reports and correspondence for approval and

estimates project cost. Interfaces with the clients’ technical personnel

concerning specific project design items or tasks. Assists with vendor

inspection, startup, and commissioning. Monitors and reviews the work of

less experienced Engineers. Prepares bid documents for materials,

engineering equipment, and construction. Prepares and reviews material

requisitions and reviews vendor drawings and bids to determine

compliance with specifications. Prepares and maintains design basis and

assists with project planning, scheduling, and manpower estimates.

Reviews drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations prepared by

others. Consults with construction personnel concerning design

constructability related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling

construction activities. Defines new approaches and resolves problems

related to conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard

materials, and challenging coordination requirements. Monitors project

team work activities and ensures all project work is performed in

accordance with company procedures. Assists with proposal preparation

and participates in project design reviews.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (willing to

accept foreign education equivalent) plus six (6) years of experience in

the design and commissioning of electrical systems for pipeline

facilities. Or, alternatively, a Master's degree and 4 years of

experience as stated above. Also requires: (1) Demonstrated expertise

designing and commissioning Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Distribution

systems for pipeline facilities; (2) Demonstrated expertise performing

power system modeling and Load flow, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash

calculations using software: ETAP, SKM or Easypower; (3) Demonstrated

expertise performing relay coordination and programming relay settings

for GE Multilin and SEL relays; and, (4) Demonstrated expertise

designing electrical substations.
